Steve Ford is the managing shareholder at Ford & Abernathy, P.C. He is a second generation lawyer and a native of Tuscaloosa. After playing football for the University of Alabama in college, he graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1978. From 1995 - present, he has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America, published by Woodward/White, in the area of workers’ compensation law. He is co-author of Alabama Workers’ Compensation Law and Handbook, published by Lexis Law Publishing. He served for several years as Adjunct Professor with the University of Alabama School of Law, teaching workers’ compensation. He has served as president of the Tuscaloosa County Bar Association. He is a member of the Alabama Trial Lawyers Association and serves on the executive committee as well as the editorial board for the Alabama Trial Lawyers Journal. In 1992, he was certified as a mediator by United States Arbitration and Mediation of the South. He and his wife Christine have six children. Areas of practice include:
